SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY FOR ALL

SuM4All's Remarkable Women Dominate TUMI'S Top Global Influencers List

Nearly one-third of awardees on the German-led Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative’s (TUMI) “Remarkable Women in Transport” list are in leadership positions in SuM4All member organizations, championing the global cause for sustainable mobility. Other notable awardees on the list include Violeta Bulc, European Commissioner for Transport, along with Robin Chase, founder of Zipcar.

Around the world women and men are striving to achieve a better mobility future for all. Yet, the majority of decision makers and planners in the transport sector are male, and women’s needs are often only poorly addressed - if at all. Although women contribute to transforming mobility, they frequently remain invisible and their contribution to safer, more inclusive and more sustainable transport is insufficiently acknowledged.

To empower Female Change-Makers in the transport sector and change mobility systems to cater to women ́s needs, TUMI seeks to highlight and support the role of women in sustainable urban mobility. Making their individual achievements visible is a long overdue step to change misconceptions and raise awareness.

SuM4All embeds this discussion into its goal-centric approach, chiefly through the lens of universal access, but also by looking at the linkages with efficiency, safety, and green mobility.
